Privacy Policy
Transposo does not need an account, keeps your work on your device, and sends data off the device only when you scan a photo, see ads, or buy Pro.
1. What stays on your device
The notes you enter, your instrument and time signature choices, your conversion history (up to 50 entries and any names you give them), your daily scan count and your consent choice are stored only on your phone. We never receive them. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage removes them.
2. Photos you scan
When you scan sheet music, the photo you took or picked is sent over the internet to Transposo's processing service, which is hosted on Cloudflare. That service forwards the photo to Google's Gemini API to read the notes, and sends the result back to your phone.
- We do not store the photo or the result on any server we control.
- Google processes the photo under its own terms. On the unpaid Gemini tier, Google may use submitted content to improve its products and machine learning technologies, and human reviewers may see it.
- Please keep personal information, such as faces or names, out of the photo.
- Before your first scan the app asks for your permission. If you decline, you can still use everything except scanning.
3. Camera and photo library
The app asks for camera or photo access only when you tap Camera or Gallery to scan, or when you save a sheet to your photo library. You can withdraw access at any time in your device settings.
4. Ads in the free version
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use your device's advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and how you interact with ads, to serve and measure ads. Transposo Pro removes ads. You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings.
5. Subscriptions
Purchases are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store, and we never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active; it receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase status.
6. Files you export
PDFs and images are created on your device and go only where you choose to send or save them. Exports from the free version carry a small "Created with Transposo Free" line.
7. What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not ask you to create an account.
- Transposo itself runs no analytics or crash reporting, although the advertising and purchase services above collect the technical data they need to work.
8. How long data is kept
Local data stays until you delete it. We keep no photos. Google, Cloudflare, RevenueCat and the app stores keep data under their own policies:
- Google Privacy Policy and Gemini API terms
- How Google uses data from partner apps
- Cloudflare Privacy Policy
- RevenueCat Privacy Policy
- Apple Privacy Policy
9. International transfers
Google, Cloudflare and RevenueCat may process data in countries other than yours. By scanning a photo or using the free version you accept this processing. You can avoid the scanning part by not scanning, and the advertising part by subscribing to Pro.
10. Your choices and rights
You can delete your local data by clearing the app's storage, refuse scanning, withdraw camera and photo access, and reset your advertising ID. Because we hold no personal data about you, most requests to access or delete data must go to the companies above; write to transposoapp@gmail.com and we will point you to the right one. If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Turkey, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
11. Children
Transposo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
12. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
